my ortho called me the other day asking me to come and visit her ASAP.
that was because i called b-jhean, her assistant, a few days ago and reported that an upper tooth beside the one enclosed with a molar band was damaged and broken.
once b-jhean reported this to dra. bonoan, she called me right away and set an appointment requesting me to come as soon as possible.
so the earliest possible visit i fixed was this afternoon at 3PM.
not in her ortigas clinic, but in St. Luke's.
so i arrived at 3PM but i was called at around 5:30!
she has so many patients, my ghas! i think im the 33rd when i arrived. :-s
imagine i was able to finish the book i was reading? but i did enjoy it, anyway. :)
so to continue, my tooth was checked and dra. bonoan said, it was not my tooth which is broken but my "pasta" (forgot how is it called in English, tooth *something*)
so she re-fixed it. and my gosh, it really hurts.
and as she studied my other teeth, she said, some need to undergo the same process.
huhuhu.. but it hurts.. it really hurts.. huhuhuhu..
after fixing the tooth, she already oriented me on what will happen on my next visit.
she said, they will be installing the wires to start moving my teeth. :s
she explained that the bands she put on my wires are just "HONEYMOON" bands to let me know how it feels to have wires and rubbers on my mouth.
and it already hurts you know.. i can't eat properly. :s
so once the wires are replaced on my next visit and i moved from light to a more heavier bands, then that's when the real STRETCHING/MOVING of my teeth will start.
huhuhu.. hope it will not hurt much. i hope i could get use of the pain soon.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR TEETH!
it's very costly to have it fixed.
thankfully, i was not charge of anything this afternoon for my visit. :)

hi grace. i come across your post when i google dra. bonoan's name... i'm planning to have braces and an acquaintance recommended her to me. she gave me dra's business card... nagpa-appointment ako on saturday sa kaniya, sa st. luke's clinic.
clueless ako about the price, pede ba kitang matanong kung how much ung binigay niyang price sa'yo for the braces? at kung anong ginawa sa first meeting?

hello! what's your name? the quote will depend on your case. mine is to fix the wide spaces between teeth on my lower set. upper set is ok, but i had it wired na din to fix the bite naman. para daw di ako magmukang petra after. hahaha! hmmm..im actually a new patient din. so far so good. pag may complain, ina-address kagad ni doc. ;o)

sa first meeting, kapag wala ng aayusin sa ipen mo like pasta, bunot, etc. etc., lalagyan ka na ng braces. usually they will ask for a P5k down plus P750 (ata) for your mouth x-ray. tas bibigyan ka nila ng bag which contains toothbrush, "pang-tinga" (haha!), wax (for the singaws, kasi magkakaron ka talaga ng singaw) tas mini-toothpaste, tas anu pa ba.. calling card ni doc. tsakaaa.. yun lang ata. dunno. basta mga ganyan. magkano ba dadalhin mo? P100,000?!!! sobra-sobra na yan, pat! hehehe.. basta agahan mo dating kasi madami sia patients. pagdating mo, sulat ka kagad sa notebook. tas tatawagin ka na lang nia. pag saturday, sa st. luke's, mas madami siang patients. kaya kng 3pm ang clinic nia. 2pm andun ka na. ganon.. pero kung ok lang syo antay ng 2hours, cge sakto ka lang dating. hehehe.. uy, Pat, wento ka ha? nung mangyayari syo bukas. ha? ^_^

uy. wag mo sanayin sa wax ang bibig mo. ako nung una feeling ko nga din, kulang na kulang yung free wax na nibigay ni doc e. pero dahil sa katamaran ko din, di nako naglalagay ng wax kahit singaw singaw na ko. hehe.. ayun nasanay na din balat ko sa loob, di nko nagsisingaw ngayon. ^_^
